Colin's letterbox programme

I agree with SS, downloaded Colin's programme last week and although I'm still getting to grips with all it has to offer, it is great.

How about parking Norsworthy Bridge (568 693) at the end of Burrator. Its a shady walk out towards Cuckoo Rock and the Potato cave in the Deancombe valley there. You could venture out further to Combeshead Tor. I'd hope you'd find at least 4 or 5 boxes out there! Dartcom's weather station (www.dart...

Had a lovely day out on the moors today but ...

got a little burnt (silly me). There was a really pleasant breeze but as you all know that means you don't realise your arms are heating up so much. I managed to put out a WOM walk and new box, but only managed to pick up three boxes (that I stumbled over). I gave up looking for other boxes as it wa...

Walking pole

I bought one but didn't really get on with it so went back to an old fashioned wooden walking stick, which is easier to poke holes with. I found the rubber circle part way up the walking pole prevent me from getting into holes and also my hand was at an awkward position holding the pole.

Cranmere Pool

Well done. I was so chuffed with myself when I collected Cranmere, Ducks Pool and Fur.

I'm hoping to get out to Cranmere and Ducks Pool again some time as I've had a couple of "Tina visits..." stamps made up ready.

Curried

I've put my curried stamp and other personal stamps somewhere very safe - I can't for the life of think where I've put them. Hoping they will turn up though so I can carry them with me.

Re: O'Brook, Holne Moor

2 boxes were part of a set of Mines Stamps, unsure how many are in the set and 2 boxes were wom, part of a Dartmoor ghosts series. These Dartmoor Ghosts stamps are worth the trek alone. Scott Thanks for your lovely comments about the Dartmoor Ghosts. They were originally WOM but then after they'd b...

Stolen boxes at Sheepstor

Unfortunately I won't ever be siting any boxes on Sheepstor again after I had my whole walk stolen within days of going in the catalogue. I will get the stamps remade at some stage and put them out on another tor.

Devon Stamps

I see they provide an A5 sheet for £22.00 plus postage. I'm wanting to get some more stamps made up soon so will give them a try.

If you put "abbreviations" in the search, it comes up with a couple of threads with some abbreviations in. Hope that helps a little.

Welcome to letterboxing.

I've collected 100 stamps before I purchased the catalogue, although did have the help of a couple of charity walks, as well as just looking around.

Enjoy.
