Thanks for the info, I have passed on the full grid reference to Noddy The Toytown Trekker so hope it will be patched up and put back on the moor.

Harford Bridge Holiday Park

Been staying here for all of my letterboxing career. There are static caravans to rent, serviced hard standings for caravans or regular camping pitches along the river, then there are hot showers and modern amenity blocks. Its a great, friendly place within easy reach of the moors or Tavistock. Its ...

I blame it on the washing up.

Sometime in the summer of 2006 my wife was doing the washing up at a campsite in Cornwall and heard a couple of ladies talking about letterboxing. She got chatting to them and gleaned a few details before letting me in on the secret. So come October 2006 we headed off to Dartmoor for our first campi...

The Tavistock Ashburton Track - box found

We were out on North Hessary Tor this last weekend and found a rather old letterbox on the West side near some boundary stones. There were 3 stamps and a book inside a red ammo box. The box is not particularly well hidden but I suppose its just not on anyone's route to somewhere else! Unfortunately ...

I will try and make some comment each time from now on ...

Good luck - weather is looking O.K. Hoping to get out myself this week-end, first time since Christmas. Not been off the moors this long for quite some time. Hope you have a more successful tally this time. There is a charity walk out that goes from Older Bridge down into Newlycombe Lake then up to...

Back to the moors

We were out on the moors at the beginning of Jan very briefly. Hadnt done any planning and managed to spend two whole days without finding so much as one letterbox! - Had a great walk past Crazywell and back via the Leat and another around Leather Tor so still good! Now I am back to the moors this w...

We made it

Well sorry this reply comes so long after the event but we made it! Drove up from Salisbury early on Saturday and started walking around 11am. Decided to set up our tent on the Kneeset side of Amicombe hill and then set off to Cranmere arriving around 1700 in glorious sunshine and much joy and incre...

Heading to Cranmere Pool

My 11 yr old son is keen to make the pilgrimage to Cranmere Pool for the Holy Grail of stamps (and so am I!) We are planning to head there over the weekend of 1-3rd of May and I have proposed a route from Lydford via Green Tor (Bleak House) and Great Kneeset as a shortish hike. What does the communi...
