You'd do well to follow Tina's advise - I am always amazed at the number of different things Tina thinks about taking - makes my rucksack contents look a bit pathetic. Although I do always have lots to eat and drink!!

Would agree with Tina here. Many boxes are in great condition - and if the weather is favourable - not too cold, not too windy and not too wet  I too sit flicking through the book to see who has visited before me. As regards waterlogged books - if there is nothing legible in them I tend to re...

Hi there Dave B. Welcome! Have had a quick look at your website -I really should be working!! But, it looks really good - tonight when I feel less guilty about browsing it I will have a good look. Paul and I use cards in the wooden box you mentioned above. We then cut them out and stick them in an album - labelling them up and numbering them as part of our collection. We use a basic waterbased ink pad - VersaColor. Though we have seen people using multiple colour ink pads - to create fantasti...

Yes I think I would have done this - once the boxes get to this state and the stamp has long gone - there is little point in leaving them. Obviously the owner hasn't checked on them lately - and they have become little more than litter.

Hi Dave, Check out this thread - posted a while ago - gives good details about where to park in Belstone. http://www.dartmoorletterboxing.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=922&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= As for whether you count all the various boxes you found on Pew Tor - it...

Just signing your name is fine. But I expect once you see everyone's personal stamps you might be yearning for one of your own! :D

Re: Letterboxing Information

The obvious is buy a notepad and ink and start scouring the moor randomly looking in cracks and crevices. This is exactly it! Finding the first 100 is always a niggly challenge - but it is easy if you go to the right places. Start off by looking through some of the old threads on here - and you wil...

Especially on a miserable wet windy day like today!! Not a day for walking on the Moors - which is a shame as Paul and I both have the day off - but hopefully the weather will improve at some point this week!! :D

Wardens could find themselves extremely busy!! And all very well if everyone was kitted out with GPS - and re-locating the boxes was therefore easy. As GPS units are not owned by everyone I think perhaps all responsible boxers should do what they can when they find boxes which are obviously unmainta...

Dizzy and I did indeed visit Dartmoor Zoo over the Christmas break. We took his 8 year old son - who was extremely good at navigating around the park using the map we had been given. We were glad we had seen the programme on the TV - because there is still a lot of work to do there - but knowing wha...
