Good story Bambam.. sure I have seen you in some caches.. The best days on Dartmoor for me is about 50/50 caching / letterboxing. Interesting info.. The Walkham Step box mentioned here was located on the upper reaches of the Walkham, almost at the head, RHS going upstream.

Hi WW that is brilliant info, Walkham Step was always one of my favourites as less known about than others, amazing that you have the original book. I haven't visited the letterbox since the 80s although I always keep an eye out when in the area, just in case. I enjoy finding long lost time capsules...

Walkham Step, for sure, one of the first 20 boxes sited on the moor, but not included on the WH Smith letterbox leaflet. Very memorable use of an old fuse box... but who sited it there?? any idea ?

Last weekend I brought in this classic box, the stamp I can repair but the book is well mushed. Does anyone know the current owner so I can contact to arrange return or adopt, looks like it hasn't been maintained since around 2002 many thanks (my records show I first found this box in 1979) I think ...

Hi Everyone, seasons greetings and all that.. a couple of weeks ago I found a very nice stamp, wet damaged, no book and very well grown in, looks quite old. It was located near the zeal Tor 3/4 marker. Its called Spectral figure- Crockern Tor. So why was this here???? and how long had it been there?...
