I got a nine year old Boxer from Woodside after my much loved collie died. He is not so good as my collie on the moor yet but he will be I hope.
Now my other collie Megan is very ill with cancer, but she is still happy, when she becomes unhappy we will have to have her put to sleep. Very sad to loose two dogs in a sheort space of time of each other.
Meg did walk a few hundred yards on the moors yesterday.

What I am saying is woodside is a good cause to support.

To those of you who bought the Hospice Care charity walk around Belstone, please note the grid for box 9 is wrong. It should be 60684 NOT 60484. I got in touch with Rena after realising something was wrong as the grid put the box the other side of the river on Halstock Hill. This meant the bearing of 11deg on Scarey couldn't be right. Anyway Rena on her way home went out to check the bearings in the pouring rain only to find the stamp soaking wet and off its backing. It is now off the moor for repair. I expect she will put paper copies out until the stamp has dried out.

Thanks for the correction for clue 9; would have been stuck without!
I have this Hospiscare walk, and there is a note at the bottom of the sheet that says : 'DNPA have requested that people do not attempt this walk until July 15th after the bird nesting season.' Am I alone in thinking this a rather unrealistic aim?

Another correction for all those that bought the Kingskerswell Guides walk - Wistmans Wood, Higher White tor and back. Box 15 the GPS should be 61746 77294. Lots of people out doing the walk, but when I eventually found 15, my friend and I were first in the book. Bearings were O.K. though.

Thanks Maureen. I'll be sending off for a few of these soon. Just wanted to check my fitness first this weekend, but as all seems to be ok, I'm sure I will enjoy the rest of the summer back walking on the moors. Life is definitely looking on the up again. :P
next target 2000 - hopefully some time in 2010 (ha, ha, make that 2013)
