This Autumn's Meet

Post by Freemans of the Moor »

We visited this years Autumn Meet on the 25th. October and was surprised by only seeing 4 Charity walks for sale.

1). A Bird's Eye View of Dartmoor11 - Row Tor to Sammy Arnold's Lane.
2). Monasatic Life - Cox Tor area.
3). Dartmoor Wild Wood - Horn Hill area.
4). Dartmoor Roundles - Crockern Tor to Wistman's Wood

We could walk freely around the hall with no congestion. The weather was decent with good viz.
Kountry Kit's stall was also absent.

I wonder if the cost of the tables/pitches along with the time of year has anything to do with it.
Sadly not everyone likes Lee Moor, and wishes it would return to Princetown. Personally I like both venues, Lee Moor is cheaper, but Princetown has a lot more to offer.

It's a shame that there are only 4 charity walks. Presumably winter walks are less profitable due to lower sales.

Unfortunately the meets are just too far to travel for us, but i did just come on here to look for charity walks to do when I need to come to Devon with work. Are the contact details available anywhere?

Charity walks and No confidence in this Forum

Post by Freemans of the Moor »

Most of the "guests" are bot programs looking for places like this to dump spam on
There are a few genuine ones who actually register, but they are few and far apart.

Just had a look at the "guests" now and all of them are bots from the USA

I used to get the updates, but I found that I wasn't getting to the moor anyway, and consequently I wasn't having the motivation to keep my records updated.

I suppose I should start again, really.
