How we started

Post by Boo Boxers »

We had 2 of our close friends down to Devon one weekend. After a fairly 'heavy' night in the pub etc, we all woke up with hangovers.

We took them for a walk on Dartmoor, not to far from the car though and found a letter box by accident.

My fiance had been letterboxing with her step dad as a child and told us what it was all about. About a week later I asked her to tell me about it again. We decided to start letterboxing as an excuse to get some more exercise and have been addicted ever since.

Well it looks as though I found one! By little staple tor.
It wasn`t my aim and I don`t have a stamp but I signed the log book.

I was actually looking for a geocache whilst passing back through dartmoor on way home from honeymoon!

I wonder how many letter boxes there are up there? Or in my local area?

The friends we had down at the time have absolutely no interest in letterboxing though, despite being 'country' types.
