As some of you may know the site has moved ownership...
Hopefully things will not seem insignificantly changed too much.
Firstly let me send thanks to Tomp for hosting the site for the past 13 years, and refused to take a cent from any of us to help pay for it.
He has my eternal gratitude for giving us this haven to chat on.
Secondly, We have a "new owner"... and it's not me...
One of the things that will be concentrated on is to update the other pages a little more often giving out news on a much more regular basis
Welcome to the "new site"

Thanks Nik.
I'm the 'new owner' - if a community site has such a thing. It's more of a caretaking role. I too thank Tom for his work in setting this up and hosting it out of his own pocket for so many years. He put in a lot of work on this site over the years, much of it unseen.
I also thank Nik for keeping activity going.
It's now hosted on Dartmoor (near to Hennock) in my house.
So, what's going to change?
Obviously things need a fixing. I started tonight by removing many of the adverts - Tom's okay with that, and I said before I offered to take it on I don't intend to monetise the site. I hadn't actually noticed how intrusive they were until I turned my adblocker off and much as I'd enjoy the company of a "sexy Russian bride", I suspect my wife might disagree!
The forum will be updated soon too, and the gallery fixed, some of the info updated and then open to suggestions...

Don't think it has ever been appreciated how much it takes to run this site - I certainly don't but look forward to the new era and refreshement of this site.
A big thank you to you both for this commitment and look forward to being a part of this for years to come

I can only echo the previous comments. Thanks to Simon, Nik and Tom for sorting all this out. I personally can't wait to see the exciting changes and updates!

Thanks for your kind thoughts - happy to help out, especially at first when Nik made me an Admin. I was recovering from yet another knee op so was glad of the opportunity to sit here and sort a few things out whilst I couldn't get myself up onto the moors.
A new era dawns, but I am so glad we were able to 'save' the site from disappearing altogether there is so much history in here and of course lots of helpful threads.

Re: Welcome to the "new site"
Can I just sat what a refreshing change - has a new feel with the slightly new colours / format. - think I like the blue - can it be programmed for a colour change each month?!
So far so good - thanks to all those that have kept this site going over the last few and look forward to future improvements - they can only be for the better
Well done to you all

Re: Welcome to the "new site"
just a quick question - are you the same Dartymoor who put out the Haytor down GC's amongst other by chance?

Wow, what a wonderful transformation.
I don't visit this site as often as I would like to but this refresh might change that. Great job
