FOUND: Visitor's book (remains)

Post by low creep »

Hello,

I found the strewn remains of a visitor's book (small memo book - obviously used to be red), soaked and unbound on the ground. Now, after weeks of drying it out - it is all vey faded, but some pages and dates are very readable with magnifying glass...I have re-ordered the pages in chronological order...

The inside cover reads in small black gothic style print "Tamerton Treacle Miners". Not sure if this is a box name or the names of those who established this letterbox.
It is possible the first page entry is "The Hand of Man..." dated 24th October 1993 and the last page entry 3rd April 1995 by "Barry Box Walkers".
Naturally, the back page is stamped by "Kilroy" and signed in by Ian & Caroline on 23rd July 1994.

Would anyone have any idea to whom this might belong and whether they would like it returned....?
Many thanks.

TTM sounds like a boxers' name rather than the name of a box - someone should be able to confirm that.

Whereabouts did you find it?

Hi,
The 'Tamerton Treacle Miners' is the name of letterboxers and not a letterbox.
