EGNOS

Ok - Technical question for GPS users out there.... :)

Does anyone know whether EGNOS now works on GPS systems in Europe now? (i.e. Has it gone past test phase?)

In short, if I bought a GPS (I've got my eye on a cheap Garmin Etrex), would I see any benefit in accuracy whatsoever by switching on WAAS? (Or do we have to wait a bit longer?)

Thanks,

Z.

It's a bit over my head this one, I'm only just adjusting to GSP at the moment but I'm sure someone here will have an answer for you. Oh, and the cheap Garmin Etrex is the one I use. :)

It's ok, I think I've answered my own question... :)

Got my Garmin Etrex this morning, switched it on and after a little while got a position accuracy of to 3 metres - which sounds to me like EGNOS is working. (Otherwise, it would have been to about 15 metres).

Cheers,

Z.
